FIRST DUE WORK FOR THE ENGINE AND RESCUE

The company and surrounding mutual aid companies were dispatched to 1592 Summitt Ave in Lower Chichester for a residential structure fire. Minutes after dispatch Chief 39(D Durbano) arrived with SMOKE SHOWING and orderd the ENGINE to layout and go in service with a 2" attack line. The engine arrived and immediatly went inservice. The engines crew found heavy fire in the kitchen area of the home and extension into the pipe chase. 40-1 arrived next and laid a supply line into the engine. Crews from 63, NCC 13 and 68 assisted with checking the exposures and ventilation. Units had the fire in check with in the first 20 min. Once the fire was knocked down Command scaled the assignment down to Companies 39, 40 and NCC 13 for overhaul and assisting the FM units.
